Innovation
Why are technology giants such as Amazon, Google and Meta able to innovate consistently, while other companies fall behind? How do you create a culture in which everyone wants to innovate? Although innovation is appealing, it remains an abstract concept for many. How do you get started on a Monday morning? Chris Heemskerk, former advisor at Google’s Innovation Lab and Head of Scaled Acquisitions at Google in the United States, offers compelling insights into how the world’s most innovative companies have developed their capacity for innovation and what we can learn from them.
Case Study
In 2023, he published a case study on Google’s innovation lab in collaboration with Harvard Business School. The study reveals the essential culture, methods and processes required for organisations to innovate continuously. His findings show, among other things, that innovation is not the result of coincidence, but of varied and continuous experiments conducted predictably and systematically throughout the organisation.
The Innovation Scorecard
To make innovation practical and accessible, he developed The Innovation Scorecard™️, a methodology that gives leaders immediate insight into every potential innovation opportunity within their organisation.
Speaker
As a speaker, he recently appeared at the United Nations in Vienna and the Arizona Technology Council’s CEO Leadership Retreat. He is also a guest lecturer at the European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability in Rome. Following his traineeship at Apple, Chris studied business administration in London and later completed further studies in innovation, leadership and design thinking at Harvard and Stanford in the United States.
