About Karim Amghar

As a child of vocational education (MBO) and now a teacher within it, Karim knows better than anyone what it means to be underestimated – and how to break through that dynamic. His personal experience drives his work as a writer, researcher, and television presenter. With titles such as Maar dat begrijp jij toch niet and HOOR MIJ! ZIE MIJ! he challenges education, the image of vocational training, and society at large to reflect and take action. He writes for NRC, presents for NTR, and advises ministers on structural change in education. Earlier he won the Compassion Award, was invited by the Royal Family for his social work, and was included in the top 5 of the Media Community Top 100.
