About Farid Tabarki

He was a columnist for Het Financieele Dagblad for many years. The same newspaper wrote about his most recent publication: “In a nutshell: the anchors of our familiar world are disappearing. At an accelerating pace, everything that provides citizens with a sense of security is vanishing, from authority and leadership to the human scale.” To respond to these developments, partnering with Farid is a wise choice. He has also presented TV programmes such as MTV Coolpolitics and Durf te denken, van Socrates tot Sartre, and regularly appears at conferences and in the media. In the extraparliamentary cabinet “formed” by WNL op Zondag, Farid was considered for the position of Minister of AI. For now, however, Farid continues to hold several supervisory positions.

Farid stands out through his combination of global experience and practical insights. His research focuses on the transition from the industrial to the liquid society: a world in which established structures are disappearing, and flexibility, adaptability, and vision make the difference. Farid also serves on several supervisory boards, giving him up-to-date knowledge of the operations and challenges of large organizations across various sectors.

Farid as a Speaker

Sessions

Farid is an energetic, passionate, knowledgeable, and engaged moderator who fully immerses himself in the content. He always prepares thoroughly and makes sure to understand the subject matter in depth. Farid enjoys sharing his knowledge with the audience. An event in English? No problem at all.

In his analysis of society, Farid looks at major developments and transformations at both national and international levels. In his book The End of the Middle – What a Society of Extremes Means for People, Business and Politics, Farid explores how increasing transparency and uncertainty are putting the middle of society under pressure and what we can do about it.

Every professional is affected by it. The way we organize our work and affairs is changing rapidly. We are increasingly moving away from long-term planning, exclusivity, and certainty. Instead, we are finding more and more solutions through flexibility, temporariness, and exchange within a network. We call this transformation from a fixed to a liquid society the Liquid Revolution. In his analysis of the liquid society, Farid distinguishes three levels, which he brings together in the “Transformation Playground” model.

In his analysis of the liquid organization, Farid explores seven strategies that organizations can adopt to succeed in a liquid society. He explains these seven strategies through “The Transformation Playground.” Farid advises organizations on how to apply these strategies to develop a successful organizational strategy and strengthen their ability to navigate the liquid society.

A society characterized by uncertainty and change calls for individuals to be adaptable. The liquid society requires different skills and new forms of collaboration from today’s professionals. In Farid’s latest research, he identifies the five capabilities individuals need to master to adapt to the liquid society. This helps employers and HR service providers understand what they need to do to attract, retain, and motivate the professionals of the future.
