From Journalist to Presenter

Fidan Ekiz is a journalist and documentary filmmaker, known for her incisive writing and warm personality. For BNNVARA, she co-hosted the talk show Op1 alongside Jeroen Pauw. She also presented De Vooravond with Renze Klamer and hosted De Nieuwe Maan. She currently makes regular appearances on the programme Half8.

In addition to her presenting work, Fidan has worked for Rotterdams Dagblad, Pauw en Witteman and RTL Nieuws, although many people will know her best from De Wereld Draait Door (DWDD). She has also written columns for Talkies Magazine and Algemeen Dagblad, covering topics such as international politics, feminism and lifestyle. Her passion for feminism inspired the VARA documentary series Vrouw op Mars, in which she explores the history of women in the Netherlands. Her critical perspective on politics is also reflected in a documentary about the elections in Turkey.
