Johnny de Mol

Johnny de Mol is a familiar face in the Dutch media landscape. His career began in 2000 with acting roles in popular TV series such as Baantjer, Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden and Costa!. He soon established himself as a versatile entertainer and discovered his passion for presenting. He travelled the world for Waar is De Mol?, hosted Down met Johnny and Beat de Mol, and reached a wide audience with programs such as SynDROOM. Alongside his work in the media, Johnny is deeply committed to social issues and supports initiatives that make a meaningful impact.

Career

Johnny de Mol has been a familiar face on Dutch television for many years. As a presenter, he has made an impact with programmes that range from deeply moving to widely talked about. He hosted the award-winning SynDROOM, which won the Golden Televizier-Ring in 2015, and presented talent shows such as Superkids and Holland’s Got Talent. His versatility was also evident in programs such as De Reis van je Leven and Waar is De Mol?, in which he brought extraordinary personal stories to life.

In 2018, Johnny moved from RTL to SBS, where he continued to showcase his distinctive style in programs such as DanceSing, Thank You for the Music and Down met Johnny. Alongside his television work, he actively supports Het Vergeten Kind, a charity dedicated to children who can no longer live at home.

His commitment to social issues was also evident in Restaurant Misverstand, which followed nine people living with dementia as they ran a restaurant under the guidance of chef Ron Blaauw. The program was later continued, as was his personal and candid theatre show Hier is de Mol!.

From September 2021 to March 2023, Johnny hosted the daily live show HLF8 on SBS6. He subsequently continued to appear on television in programmes such as Kwis met Ballen, Ranking The Talent and Camping de Wildernis. In 2024, he returned with Kwis met Ballen, 30 Seconds and Camping de Wildernis, further demonstrating his versatility as a presenter.
