How do you hold your own in local politics? How do you remain composed when significant demands are placed on you? In this session, Larissa shares her experiences as a member of Rotterdam City Council, including the challenges she faced and the lessons she learned. At the age of 22, she was elected through preferential votes and had to find her way without a safety net. Within a relatively short period, she took the lead on issues including refugee policy, undocumented people, the childcare benefits scandal and culture. She offers practical guidance designed to help more people view a career in politics as a realistic and accessible option.
