Manu van Kersbergen

Manu van Kersbergen is a creative all-rounder, musician, writer and presenter. His music is celebrated for its lyrical depth and collaborations with a wide range of instrumentalists. Over the years, his musical career has taken him to numerous venues and festivals across the Netherlands, including Lowlands, Paradiso and The Hague Jazz.

Radio SPOKEN

Alongside his musical journey, Manu developed the radio format SPOKEN, which he presented for five years on national radio station FunX. In 2017, he also co-developed the television format SPOKEN WORD SESSIES in collaboration with Omroep HUMAN. The programme brings together writers, spoken-word artists and musicians to create inspiring and unexpected artistic collaborations.

With an academic background in anthropology and a growing interest in the media, Manu was appointed editor-in-chief of Spunk, the Netherlands’ oldest online youth magazine, in 2012. This role brought him into contact with VICE, for which he also directed several short documentaries.

Manu as a Moderator, Debate Host and Presenter

Manu continues to perform regularly and is frequently invited to host debates, presentations and conferences with a cultural focus, including Eurosonic Noorderslag and No Man’s Land. He also regularly develops the programme content for these events.

In 2015, Manu co-founded Uitgeverij Rorschach with his close friend and colleague Derek Otte. The publishing platform aims to publish the work of emerging writers.
