Board Member, Entrepreneur and Speaker
Marian Spier is a board member, entrepreneur and speaker. In 2012, she founded her own company specialising in solving complex communication challenges in the Netherlands and abroad. Through this, she built a diverse portfolio of clients, including S4 Capital, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Municipality of Amsterdam, the United Nations and TED.com. She also coaches and trains female entrepreneurs from the Netherlands, Poland, Hong Kong, the United States, Algeria, the Caribbean and Moldova in business development and communication.
In 2015, Marian founded the first Female Startup Award Programme in the Netherlands. She is also an advisor and board member of various non-profit organizations, including the Van Gogh Museum, the VandenEnde Foundation and Rutgers.
Her projects have been featured in various media outlets, including Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Forbes, The Guardian, NRC, de Volkskrant, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Het Parool and FD.
In 2013, 2017 and 2019, Marian was named one of the fifty inspiring women in the technology sector by Inspiring Fifty Netherlands. In 2018, she won the EU Business Angel Award. In 2019 and 2020, Opzij magazine named her one of the most influential women in business. Her success continues to attract attention because she adds value to others in everything she does and creates space for people to fully develop their potential. Her platform FEM-START, for example, is an EdTech solution aimed at closing the funding gap for female entrepreneurs.
