Patrick Trentelman began his career in education, where his talent for innovation quickly became apparent. With his gifted students, he developed SpaceTime, an educational app that grew into an award-winning product and was nominated for the UNESCO prize. Successes in the classroom led him to the broader fields of technology and entrepreneurship. Just a week after leaving education, he joined a trade mission in Boston with Mark Rutte, marking the start of a career focused on building, interpreting, and innovating.

Career
After his successful career in education and the development of SpaceTime, Patrick became an innovation manager at a fintech company in the social sector. In 2023, he took a sabbatical just as generative AI was breaking worldwide. While many focused solely on tools and prompts, Patrick approached AI differently: he saw it as a conversation partner. This vision led to two educational games on safe and effective AI use, developed with the Finnish gamification platform Seppo, and the course “In Conversation with AI – Master the Unlimited Possibilities in Two Weeks (Without Technical Hassle).”
Since October 2023, Patrick has been AI Officer at DHM, a consultancy in civil infrastructure working with clients such as Rijkswaterstaat and major contractors. In this sector, where innovation often moves cautiously, he serves as an internal guide. He delivers AI masterclasses, advises on ethical frameworks, and supports the practical implementation of AI in projects. Additionally, he serves on the Supervisory Board of Biblionet Groningen, focusing on innovation, education, and digitalization. His work demonstrates that AI is not only technically and economically relevant, but also socially and culturally impactful.
