Chef and SVH Master Chef Ron Blaauw made his name with Restaurant Ron Blaauw in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, which received its first Michelin star in 2004 and its second in 2006. In 2011, Blaauw moved his kitchen to Amsterdam, before changing direction completely in March 2013. He closed his Michelin starred restaurant and opened Ron Gastrobar at the same location just a few days later, which also received a Michelin star.
His businesses include Ron Gastrobar on Sophialaan, Ron Gastrobar Indonesia in Ouderkerk, Ron Gastrobar Indonesia in Laren and Ron Gastrobar bij de C in Bloemendaal. There is also the Ron Blaauw Central Station Cooking Studio in Diemen, which offers both workshops and professional chef training. Ron’s culinary passion extends far beyond his own restaurants. He has inspired the kitchens of around five restaurants and acts as an advisor on various projects.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Ron launched his Indonesian rice table boxes. Several years later, this remains a successful and thriving business.
