Andries Tunru

Andries studied at the prestigious cabaret program of the Koningstheateracademie in Den Bosch. In 2016, he won the Audience Award at the Groninger Student Cabaret Festival and both the Jury and Audience Award at the Amsterdam Student Cabaret Festival. In 2017, he was a finalist at the Cameretten Cabaret Festival, where he won the Personality Award. Andries tours theaters with his cabaret show “Vlees, vis, wal en schip” (Meat, Fish, Shipwreck), which was highly praised by both press and audience. He also appeared for several seasons in the TV program Hufterproef and had a weekly column on Radio 1. Improvisation As an improvisation actor, he tours together with Stefan Hendrikx as the improv duo Beperkt Houdbaar (Limited Shelf Life). Accompanied by musician Joep Hullegie, they perform fully improvised evening shows. With the collective Flunknarf, Andries became Dutch Champion in Improvisational Theatre at the NTT in both 2018 and 2019. This group is frequently invited to close conferences and symposia with their improvised wrap-up shows. In 2020, Andries competed in the TV program De Slimste Mens (The Smartest Person Alive) and remained the smartest for seven episodes in a row.
