Eva Jinek was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and grew up in Washington, D.C. At the age of eleven, she moved to the Netherlands. She studied American History at Leiden University. After graduating, she started her career at the foreign affairs desk of NOS, where her talent in front of the camera was discovered. Eva subsequently presented various radio and television programmes and worked as a correspondent during the 2008 U.S. presidential elections. She later became one of the presenters of Met het Oog op Morgen.
From news to talk shows and documentaries
In 2011, Eva moved to WNL, where she presented Vandaag de Dag together with Merel Westrik and hosted her own Sunday talk show. Two years later, she joined KRO-NCRV, where she launched her daily talk show Jinek and created the documentary series De Verenigde Staten van Eva. At the beginning of 2020, Eva made the transition to RTL, where she presented her talk show JINEK. In 2022, her Videoland series De Wereld van Eva was released, in which she openly discusses the beautiful and challenging aspects of motherhood. In 2023, she announced her return to public broadcasting. From September 2024, Eva can be seen on NPO 1 with her talk show EVA, produced by AVROTROS.
Awards and recognitions
Over the years, Eva has received several awards for her work. In 2017, she was named Broadcaster Woman of the Yearand received the Zilveren Televizier Ster for Best Presenter. In addition, she has won the Sonja Barend Award twice. In 2018, she received the award for her interview with DENK politician Farid Azarkan, and in 2023 for her interview with Camille van Gestel.
