Guido Thys

Guido Thys pinpoints exactly where organisations get in their own way and why customer focus and innovation often remain nothing more than good intentions. With more than 30 years of entrepreneurial experience and thousands of sessions under his belt, he knows exactly where the friction lies and what needs to change. He translates this into sharper thinking, concrete behavioural change and immediately applicable choices. His sessions are sharp, humorous and thought-provoking, with a style that challenges audiences while making them laugh at the same time.

About Guido Thys

With more than 2,600 lectures and workshops and twenty books to his name, Guido is a contrarian thinker who dissects and translates with gentle yet razor-sharp precision, prepares thoroughly and responds intuitively in the moment.

Those who hear him speak quickly realise that Guido does not see organisations as a collection of models, projects and slogans, but as an ecosystem that must create value for all stakeholders and, above all, for the customer. Since his first job as head of promotions at a Flemish newspaper, he has built a reputation as a sharp observer and unconventional advocate of (internal) entrepreneurship and, above all, customer thinking. A gentle contrarian, razor-sharp yet kind, uncompromising yet disarming.

Guido Thys as a Speaker

Guido describes himself as the least requested speaker in the Netherlands, because it is never about the person on stage. The only thing that matters is the message: what does the client want the audience to take home, besides a stomach full of (organic?) bitterballen?

For him, this comes down to three key principles. Messages resonate when they are relevant, when they are translated into the everyday lives and work of the audience, rooted in today's reality, full of unexpected twists and, above all, humour. Presentations are successful when they make people see things differently and strike a chord of inspiration.

Finally, audiences expect a memorable event that makes them feel valued and shows that a great deal of effort has been made specifically for them. That is why Guido prepares the client's story in great detail during the process leading up to the event, just as he has done with more than 2,400 organisers befor

Sessions

The topics Guido can give lectures on are highly diverse, but always focus on customer value and internal entrepreneurship.

His presentation “Workshop: How to Drive Customers Away” remains interactive, hilarious and guaranteed to have a lasting impact, even after more than 1,100 editions.

“Hopeless but Not Serious” is a collection of encouragement and practical tools for recognising opportunities in a world that is different and more unusual every day.

The frequently heard comment, “We laughed so much, but that Belgian also had a powerful message,” perfectly captures his work.

Guido Thys offers a truly unique combination of four, or optionally five, forms of contribution:

  1. A dynamic, fresh and highly humorous approach to introductions and announcements, providing a welcome contrast to the more serious elements of the event;
  2. Valuable content expertise (optionally combined with his own keynote or closing lecture), based on thirty years of experience across all industries and with a wide range of organisational challenges;
  3. A proven approach to initiating and maintaining lively dialogue with the audience, whenever desired;
  4. Professional and structured moderation of the event, with a strong focus on time management;
  5. Optional advice during the preparation process and in determining the most suitable formats: the content of a presentation can often be conveyed much more effectively through an interview, debate, panel discussion, role play, duo or trio presentation, etc.
