From Entrepreneur to Speaker
Kristel Groenenboom is the managing director and owner of the container company that bears her name. She leads a team of 30 employees and has achieved a turnover of €4 million. Over the years, she has been named Most Promising Businesswoman, International Entrepreneur of the Year, and Businesswoman of the Year 2022. She has also been featured on lists of successful entrepreneurs by publications including Sprout, Het Financieele Dagblad, and The Next Women. In addition to being a columnist and speaker, Kristel is a regular guest on BNR Radio.

Kristel has been running a multimillion-euro container manufacturing company since the age of 23. She has also written two books about her experiences as an entrepreneur: ‘Mag ik meneer Kristel even spreken’ and 'Nu of nooit'. Her first book reached the top of Managementboek.nl's bestseller list even before its official release. In the book, Kristel challenges the stereotypes and prejudices she encounters on a daily basis. Not every successful entrepreneur is a white, 46-year-old man, and not every woman dislikes technology, accounting, or cars.
Businesswoman of the Year
In 2022, Kristel became the youngest woman ever to be named Businesswoman of the Year. The title aligns with her mission to promote female entrepreneurship. Kristel regularly gives talks at Delft University of Technology to women who have recently started studying engineering. She also enjoys introducing primary school children to technology, where many girls encounter the subject for the first time. In addition, she gives talks to teachers and speaks at events organized by business and entrepreneurship organizations.
