Marcel Bamberg is a familiar face on Dutch stages. He aims to make every topic open for discussion through good questions and a healthy dose of humor. In doing so, he also gives a voice to people who are usually heard less often. He does this by preparing thoroughly and always continuing to listen, whether in front of the camera or on stage in front of an audience. He is the regular face of internal video channels for several major brands, including banks and insurance companies.
Hashtech
Together with two fellow programme makers, Marcel Bamberg created the tech talk show Hashtech for TivoliVredenburg. In 2020, they produced their third season. Since summer 2019, Marcel Bamberg has been the regular presenter of the tech podcast and YouTube channel Digital Waves. Behind the scenes, he occasionally works as a television maker, most recently as an editor at PilotStudio on the RTL programme Beste Kijkers.
In 2018, Marcel Bamberg was one of the talents in the seventh cohort of TV Academy, where he learned how to create television and online content. He was also ‘half’ of the duo Bamberg & Smit, who participated in the Leids Cabaret Festival. They did not win the festival at the time, but in hindsight, this turned out to be a mistake by the jury.
AD.nl
Since 2022, Marcel Bamberg has appeared weekly on the website of AD and other DPG Media titles. He is the face of explanatory videos, short documentaries and original video series. One of his recent programmes is Marcel Redt De Verkiezingen, a satirical interview programme in which he pitches rather ridiculous ideas to encourage more people to vote. Examples include autograph sessions with well-known Dutch celebrities at polling stations or releasing an election song in the style of the Dutch royal wedding song. He presents his plans to well-known current and former Dutch politicians and then tests them in practice.
Speaker
Marcel can interview, present and create programmes, while finding the right balance between substance and humor. One moment, this may be a street interview with a camera rolling; the next, a one-on-one conversation in a theatre.
Marcel does not have a specific ‘niche’. This makes him a generalist who knows a little about a great many things. Ultimately, Marcel is less interested in becoming an expert in ‘X’ and more interested in creating a great programme or conducting an in-depth interview. That enthusiasm is what Marcel brings to everything he does.
