Born in Waalwijk, Olcay developed a strong entrepreneurial spirit from an early age. At the age of fourteen, she gave the clothes in her mother's wardrobe a new lease of life, inspired by the designs of Jean Paul Gaultier. That ambition later evolved into SuperTrash, the fashion brand with which she successfully bridged the gap between high street and luxury fashion. The brand grew into an international phenomenon with more than 2,000 points of sale across 24 countries. In 2010, Olcay was awarded the Marie Claire Prix de La Mode for Best Fashion Entrepreneur.
From Entrepreneurship to Television
Following the bankruptcy of SuperTrash in 2018, Olcay chose not to stand still but to embark on a new chapter. That same year, she launched her own beauty brand and published a book about how determination and courage can take you from nothing to the top. She has also become a well-known television and radio personality. For many years, she presented lifestyle segments on RTL Boulevard, appeared on Shownieuws, and was a regular guest on Oranjezomer last summer. In addition, she hosts her own podcast, where she speaks with guests about entrepreneurship, life, and everything in between.
Olcay Gulsen as a Moderator
As a moderator, Olcay combines a strong business background with years of experience in television, radio, and live events. She interviews entrepreneurs and experts with ease, asks insightful follow-up questions, and keeps audiences engaged through humour and a dynamic pace. She is equally comfortable addressing more challenging topics. For Net5, she presented a programme on domestic violence centred around her own personal story, and for NPO, she hosted Fatale Liefde. As an ambassador for UN Women Netherlands, she has been committed for many years to raising awareness and combating violence against women. This combination of substance, courage, and authenticity makes Olcay a moderator who not only guides the program but also adds energy, depth, and meaning to every event.
