Sessions

While national politicians tend to blame ‘Brussels’ when problems arise, citizens increasingly look to ‘Europe’ for solutions during crises. This is the European paradox: whether we admit it or not, we are deeply integrated, even if at times we seem farther apart than two planets. How does ‘Brussels’ really work? Who answers the phone when someone calls ‘Europe’? And how are power dynamics shaping up in a time of rapid and profound geopolitical change? Using anecdotes, illustrations, and his own experiences, Stefan de Vries offers a clear and engaging insight into the often-criticized, complex, and fascinating European project.
