Experience
Daan began his career over 17 years ago as a buyer and product developer for the Dutch fashion brand NZA New Zealand Auckland. He quickly became the right hand of the founders – two true entrepreneurs who taught him the ropes. He soon grew into the role of Product Development Manager and Head of Buying, with a strong focus on Asia. After more than eight years, Daan decided to move to Jakarta and work for one of the largest production agencies in Indonesia. In his role as Business Unit Manager, Daan produced for premium brands such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein Jeans, Hugo Boss, Guess, Lacoste, and Next. After visiting hundreds of factories in Asia, he saw many things going well but also recognized significant opportunities for improvement. Daan believed it could be done differently—and better. He envisioned sustainable production closer to home. Once back in Amsterdam, he founded Unrobe in 2017. Eight years later, Daan has made a significant positive impact with numerous great companies.
