About Iris Hond
Iris Hond is a Dutch pianist and composer. She graduated summa cum laude from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 2013. At a young age, she won international prizes and attended prestigious masterclasses.
During her studies, Iris became known as the resident pianist on the TV program De Tiende van Tijl. In 2009, she opened both concerts of the legendary Diana Ross at GelreDome in Arnhem as a solo artist. In the following years, she signed a record deal with Universal Music and released multiple albums.
In September 2021, Iris made history as the only soloist to give ten consecutive concerts in the Main Hall of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw.
In addition to performing in renowned concert halls such as the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, and many other leading international venues, Iris regularly plays in unconventional spaces where classical music is rarely heard, including prisons and shelters for the homeless and refugees.
She is currently working on a new album and the compositions for the Broadway show The Pianist, which tells the story of Wladek Spilman, made famous worldwide by Roman Polanski’s film of the same name.
