Hockey coach

Even before his career as a hockey coach, Marc Lammers made an impression in the sports world. As a hockey player, he won both the Dutch and European titles with his club Den Bosch. In addition, Marc played five times for the Dutch national team. Even before he stopped playing hockey, he was already active as a coach. He briefly worked as a player coach in Italy, after which he led the Spanish women’s national team. After the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000, he moved to the Netherlands, where he built an impressive track record.

In 2008, he was rewarded for all his efforts. He achieved the highest possible goal, winning a Gold medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing! In September 2012, Marc was appointed head coach of the Belgian men’s national hockey team, where he remained until 2014. He has a passion for the sport and is a strong example of a modern, innovative coach. The Sinterklaas stick, “lammeren,” the heart rate bra and the penalty corner glasses are some of his groundbreaking ideas that have led to major changes within the sport of hockey.

Sessions

Some typical statements by Marc Lammers are “Winners have a plan,” “Flow from good to gold” and “Turning an eight into a ten.” In his keynote, he challenges you to look at leadership, innovation and collaboration from a new perspective and connects this to the business world through practical examples. He does not look from a place of fear, but from possibilities, and shows how you can achieve success by responding to change and embracing flexibility.

In a locker room, you are alone with your team and can truly be yourself. It is the place where plans are made and successes are born. It also holds many emotions of a team. You can almost smell the tears and the sweat. The tension, the disappointment and the joy. But just as importantly, a locker room represents a safe environment for the team where agreements are made with and about each other. Marc challenges you to step into a locker room with your team. To take a closer look together at what motivates your team, what you do for the team, and what the team does for you. How you feel within the team and why you are actually part of it. It is a half-day full of insights where, once the door opens again, you no longer stand next to each other as colleagues, but as a team.
