Sessions

Speaker Marlieke Koks gives lectures and workshops on neurodiversity and ADHD, with the goal of inspiring companies and organizations to recognize and embrace all brain variations. By better understanding each other, neurodivergent talent can be optimally utilized. 20% of the Netherlands has a neurodivergent brain, and more and more organizations are realizing that this is a strength rather than a disorder. Neurodivergent individuals, such as those with ADHD, autism, or dyslexia, possess exceptional qualities, talents, and skills that can be of great value to organizations. For example, people with ADHD bring innovative, creative, and solution-oriented thinking, as well as analytical ability. They view situations from unique angles, quickly make connections, are strong improvisers, and effortlessly think ‘outside the box’. They can also motivate team members, challenge them to push boundaries, or provide the energy to take that extra step. On the other hand, individuals with ADHD often struggle more with emotional regulation, energy balance, and focusing their attention.

When an inclusive environment is created with more space for brain variations in the workplace, this not only improves productivity and the quality of work, but it can also have a positive effect on a healthy and enjoyable work culture with less absenteeism, turnover, and dysfunction. A company that attracts and retains neurodivergent talent has an edge in future-proof work and innovation of products, services, and processes.
