About Michel Scholte

Since 2012, Michel Scholte has been director and co-founder of True Price. He is also director and co-founder of Impact Institute since 2018. In January 2021, Michel was named Minister of the New Economy by MVO Nederland. He has extensive experience in making companies and organizations more sustainable and resilient.

At Impact Institute, Michel oversees the AI-driven software Impatec, used by impact investors such as Invest NL and ABN AMRO SIF. Drawing on his experience with sustainability and resilience, he developed the concept of Resilient Protection. Through Resilt.com, he launched a data and software solution to enhance the preparedness and resilience of households and businesses. Michel holds an MSc in Sociology from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with a specialization in social research and agent-based modeling of complex systems.

In January 2021, Michel was named Minister of the New Economy. He is a highly sought-after keynote speaker and author of numerous True Price reports. In his lecture, he shares his extensive experience applying True Pricing in business and his vision for a new, future-proof economy. He is also a member of the think tank Worldconnectors and an alumnus of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers network. Michel holds several advisory roles in impact measurement and valuation, serves on the board of the Netherlands Food Partnership, and is co-founder of the Impact Economy Foundation. He holds an MSc in Sociology from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, specializing in social research, agent-based modeling, and living wages.

In this session, Michel unpacks the new EU sustainability regulations (CSRD) and demonstrates that they are much more than a reporting obligation: they are an opportunity to strengthen your business strategy. You will learn how chain transparency can be turned into a competitive advantage, from mapping impact across the entire value chain to taking targeted improvement actions. Using real-life examples of organizations leveraging CSRD requirements to become innovative and future-proof, Michel shares insights from his experience as an instructor at the CSRD Academy and his expertise in CSRD data and software.
