About Redouan Ait Chitt
Redouan Ait Chitt, better known as REDO, is a professional dancer and speaker who travels around the world for shows, workshops, lectures and competitions. However, a career as a dancer was not the most obvious choice for him. He was born, without any medical explanation, with a shortened right arm without an elbow joint, no right hip and a shorter right leg. At the age of 14, he started breakdancing.
Redo as a Speaker
During his lectures, Redo speaks about dealing with setbacks and turning a perceived weakness into a strength. He shares a personal story about prejudice, diversity, self belief and focusing on possibilities. Redo is unique in his performance, both as a dancer and as a speaker. He combines his life story and experiences with his spontaneous energy, humour and audience interaction to create a complete keynote. To conclude his story, Redo leaves the room completely silent with an impressive dance performance. “No Excuses, No Limits” is a universal motto that continues to resonate with audiences long after they have left the room.
Dancing with a Physical Challenge
He gained national recognition through his performances at the tribute concert for Princess Beatrix and on the RTL television show Everybody Dance Now, where he finished in second place. In 2019, Redo became the first hip hop dancer to win De Zwaan, the most prestigious dance award in the Netherlands. In 2020, he topped the Community Top 100, an annual list of inspiring talents from Dutch society. Together with singer Eefje de Visser, Redo opened the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam in May 2021 for an audience of millions. More recently, he presented the NTR programme Project Dans on NPO 1. For his work and achievements at local, national and international level, he received a Royal Honour as the youngest Officer in the Order of Orange Nassau. Redo regularly performs in theatre shows and television productions and delivers motivational lectures and workshops in the Netherlands and abroad.
