About Serdar Gözübüyük

Serdar Gözübüyük is committed to sportsmanship, respect and achieving your dreams. As a role model for young people, he radiates leadership; from the world of sport and through his company, he motivates and inspires.

Through his entrepreneurship and refereeing, he shows how to deal with setbacks, something he often encounters in both disciplines. With a personal story, he shows how a company can perform at its best and how to bring out the best in your entrepreneurs. Motivation and insight are central to this.

Eredivisie

Serdar Gözübüyük started as a goalkeeper at football club DSK. He was later asked to referee youth matches, which was the moment he found his calling in football and fully focused on a career as a referee. In 2006 and 2007, he was placed on the KNVB’s C list, where he began refereeing Eerste Divisie matches. The Eredivisie soon followed, and he made his debut in May 2010 during Heracles Almelo against ADO Den Haag. In his first season as a referee, he was voted best referee and received the Golden Card.

As of 1 January 2012, Serdar Gözübüyük became the youngest referee in Dutch history to be promoted to the international FIFA list. Since then, he has refereed matches all over the world. In December 2015, he was promoted from group 2 to group 1 within FIFA, allowing him to referee Europa League and Champions League matches. He now belongs to the Elite group of UEFA referees, a group of the best 25 referees in Europe. In the Netherlands, he has refereed more than 400 professional football matches, two Johan Cruijff finals, a cup final and more than 13 Champions League matches for UEFA. He has also been named referee of the year several times.

Entrepreneur

In addition to his career as a referee, Serdar is a successful independent entrepreneur. He shows young people throughout the Netherlands that success can be achieved by setting clear goals. With his life story, he makes clear where he comes from and how he has achieved his own goals, while also showing that he is still on his journey.

Education

Serdar Gözübüyük has been giving guest lessons and workshops at many schools since 2010. These cover various topics that are relevant in our society. His workshops have a strong impact on young people and students. He motivates them with his story and activates them.
