He wrote the book based on more than one hundred conversations with (new) leaders, artists, executives, and people with remarkable life stories. Sessions

For anyone seeking self-knowledge, inspiration, and reflection on the issues of our time.

How do we find our way in a world that is in crisis and confusion? Roek Lips has spoken with more than 100 executives, scientists, artists, and other people with remarkable stories, searching for inspiration and guidance. All of these conversations were recorded on camera. By using stylishly filmed excerpts, Roek encourages reflection and dialogue in this interactive performance. Drawing on the insights he has gained, personal experiences, and inspiring stories, Roek takes you on a journey and challenges you with thought-provoking questions.

A performance that offers guidance in a time when nothing can be taken for granted. Because despite everything that comes your way, you always have the freedom to choose.

The Dutch newspaper Trouw regularly publishes articles featuring stories from the series, many of which have been among the paper's most-read articles. In mid-October, the publishing house AmboAnthos will release the book Wie kies je om te zijn, based on the series. For an impression of several excerpts, visit www.nieuweleiders.nl.

Wie kies je om te zijn features contributions from, among others, Ahmed Aboutaleb, Paul de Blot, Claudia de Breij, Louis van Gaal, Arnon Grunberg, Joke Hermsen, Reinbert de Leeuw, Irene van Lippe-Biesterfeld, Ivo van Hove, Typhoon, Paul Verhaeghe, Jan Terlouw, and many others.

Authority can no longer be taken for granted at a time when reputation is more important than ever to success. Trust in organizations and leaders has declined significantly in recent years. In the media, people are often quick to look for someone to blame rather than a solution.

At the same time, there is an increasing demand for transparency and for sharing personal considerations, preferably as authentically as possible. This presents a difficult dilemma for many people who hold responsibility within organizations.

  • How transparent should you be?
  • How can you invest in a strong reputation?
  • What is the role of stakeholders?
  • And what can you do if you or your organization comes under threat?

In this practical and timely session, we work through these questions using various real-life examples, with room for participants to bring in their own cases.
